We have a pair of red tailed hawks that live on our property and each year they have a baby. This year's baby has just fledged and after a bad thunderstorm, we found him dead underneath a power line. He had burns on his feet and we assume electricity from the power line arced and killed him. I went to investigate because we saw a something white in the grass and assumed it was a duck, we were very sad to find out it was our baby hawk. The parents cried out for him for several days.
PLEASE be aware I, nor any person, had any part in the death of this animal. He had very recently died (he was still warm to the touch), I took pictures as reference for wings, as it is quite hard to get pictures of wings sitting still and open.
I apologize if pictures of deceased animals offends anyone. I will be posting others for stock reference.
